Staines

Staines is an urban area in the Borough (Hundreds) of Spelthorne (Spelethorne). The main towns in Spelthorne are Staines (Stanes), Ashford (Exeford), Stanwell (Stanwelle), Shepperton (Scepertone), Sunbury (Sunbarie). Staines is the administrative centre of the Borough and has the largest shopping area. Spelthorne is a district of London, that has a population of approximately 90,000, and covers 21 square miles.

These are all old shops and businesses, in Staines from the 1800's to the 1960's.
I have put them in alphabetical order, rather than where they were located. The # is their phone number back from 1930

The first shop is the oldest in Staines. It changed through the years but was owned by the same family.

DENYER 1560's - 33, High Street. Corner of High Street & Thames Street, (where Debenhams is now). Saddlers, Harness Makers, etc. (They actually had a model horse on the frontage of their shop, it looked like a toy!)
