This organization was born in 1989, in Roosevelt, New Jersey, just after my grand-daughter, Jenny, was born. I wanted her to grow up in a world that would be clean, safe, and beautiful. I knew that at that time the world was heading in a direction which was nothing like my wish, so I decided to do something about it. The name of this organization was born while walking in Pipestone Minnesota. We wanted to set up a Gathering there but had no name, so as we were walking to the meeting we thought about what it should be called and I came up with Natives of the Earth, because we are all Natives to our beautiful planet. The initials say NOTE, and so 'take NOTE' could be used as a catch phrase as well. By the time we got to the meeting place we were all set and ready to go. The Gathering took place in the lovely peaceful, Spiritual, Sacred town of Pipestone, in 1990, and before long our life path took us to Pipestone where we made it our home. Jenny is now 30 and by moving to MN she did have a childhood of growing up in a clean, safe and beautiful environment. She was a big part of the lifestyle I had back then, and today lives with me in my Native land England. However the dream I had back when she was born, has not become real as even today, 30 years later, the environment is still in danger, as are we who live on this magnificent planet. I decided back in 2018 to resurrect this website and group and add to it the problems that we are experiencing today. I don't know if it will do any good, but awareness can help. I hope that the powers that rule us in our various countries will soon wake up and see the damage that has been and is still being done around the world. A Dakota man once told me that we are as insignificant as fleas on a dogs back, and when the fleas are making the dog itch it will just give a massive shake and knock the fleas off. Our beautiful earth is probably ready to do just that to us right now. Gloria Hazell-Derby
