A Northern Plains beaded hide and cloth female doll, circa last quarter 19th century. Partially beaded hide dress with a remnant of red trade cloth at the neck, partially beaded leggings and partially quilled moccasins, the detailed cloth head with sculpted nose.

1901 - 2000
An Arapaho muslin doll with beaded and painted hide face, 20th century. Wears a traditional dress decorated front and back with fringes, beads, green ochre, tin cones, and red wool trim at neck. Buffalo(?) hair ends in braids that are wrapped with pale pink twill ribbon and tied with a piece of abalone. Earrings are suspensions of long cream-colored beads with leather spacers and end with tin cones. Belt is leather with tin discs sewn with sinew. Outfit decorated with delicate detail and carried to the extreme with moccasins that have been rubbed with red ochre and leggings that are beaded and decorated with tin discs.
