2010: 'How Could I Forget' the play that Jenny wrote about her maternal great-grandparents is at the moment in rehearsals. It will be performed by the Thorpe Players in March 2010 (see Buzz page for more info). Jenny will be Directing the play.

“How could I forget?” Follows elderly Jerry and Dolly Fowler as they reminise about their past sixty plus years together. With focus on World War Two, we see the young couple meet, fall in love and learn why Jerry has become so ill. We also see why their marriage may not be “What you would call love,” but what it really means to give up your life for someone and what love is.

Does love conquer all? Can women resist a bloke in uniform? Will Petula ever go to America and will Dr. Palmer ever turn up? With a twist you won’t see coming and all these questions plus more answered, you won’t want to miss, “How could I forget?” by Jenny Hazell.

Based on true events and written in memory of Jerry, Dolly and Sid Fowler.

2008: Jenny has had a few poems published online, she has written a fantasy book (real time) and two plays plus a number of short stories. She wrote her first short story when she was around 12. She is now writing her third play about relationships. The last one she wrote, was based around eating disorders and she is hoping to have it staged next year.

Jenny cares deeply about the problems of eating disorders and hopes that by writing about the them she will be able to change peoples views on them. See more about this on the Volunteering page.

2009: Jenny has co-written a pantomime for the Thorpe Players entitled 'Jack and the Queenstalk' that will be performed at Thorpe November/December 2009. Jenny will also be one of the performers in the Panto.

in Thorpe

All his life, not so young Jack Trott has had “One Vision”. To become a rockstar! He dreams of appearing on the "Rockfactor" where Simon, Cheryl, Louis and Dani will hear him sing and get his song played on "Radio Ga-Ga". However much to his (and his mothers) dismay, it seems he can never quite make it to the top...that is until one day...Jack wakes up to find the 'magic beans' he brought from the not so, 'innocent old lady' have grown into a giant beanstalk! Whilst Jack can't make it to the top of the charts, can he make it to the top of the beanstalk? You will have to come find out that for yourself!

A modern twist on a traditional family Pantomime, "Jack and the QueenStalk" has all the standard Pantomine gags including, the Pretty Princess, Lords, Kings, our very own Cow-Pat and two dames for the price of one! But what's more is we have thrown in all your favourite Queen songs to boot! Including, "Under Pressure", "I Want It All", "Killer Queen", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and at long last "Bohemian Rhapsody".

With plenty for the kids, and just enough for the adults, come find out what wonderous treasures await Jack up the beanstalk. Boo and hiss the baddies, cheer the goodies, and sing along to the songs!

From the same company who brought you, “Snow-white and the four Swedish Pop-stars,” and “Aladdin and his Greasy Lamp,” Thorpe Players present their latest adaptation-

“JACK AND THE QUEENSTALK”.
