I found a necklace pendant laying on the ground as I was leaving the
memorial ride in Mankato.
If someone is missing a pendant please message me with the description

I hope to be in Mankato one day for the ceremony, but I will always post about it. Only 2 of my 1000s of friends commented yesterday but one asked to join. WV has only a small indigenous population, so I will continue to remind Central Appalachians of your resilience and our need to honor and learn. |

Gloria Hazell Derby I have a horrible memory. I know most of what I do or watch was down 2 years. I've been watching I'm thinking the first year ..Such a Beautiful and Blessed thing I enjoyed. I did find the movie in my saved movies. I don't pay for YouTube so I couldn't get on. I'm glad I had it saved.. I will check out the site. Sometimes its so small I can't see. And like I said brain injuries mess with my memory. But I always remember the ride.. |

Dakota Memorial Reconciliation Park
Leaders of the Dakota community and Mankato agreed that a memorial plaque
wasn’t enough. Tom Miller’s sculpture of Winter Warrior in
1987 was a step, but more was needed. In 1990, Jim Buckley and Bud Lawrence
co-chaired a committee that included Ernest and Vernell Wabasha, Bruce
and Sheryl Dowlin, Mankato Mayor Stan Christ, Jeff Kagermeier, Jim Peterson,
Tom Miller and Perry Wood.
Reconciliation Park—the memorial at the hanging site—has evolved
over the past 25 years. Today this park is the meditative and educational
place it was intended to be. It’s the destination for the Dakota
38+2 Riders each Dec. 26th. It’s where the Honoring prayers will
always be said and sung.

Judy MasjaWga Maney-Palomino The names are on the web site every year. (since 2013) as are the names of the women who were confined in Fort Snelling. The link is on the bottom of each web page along with other things to do with the Dakota. We are a private group now and so can't share.
So many people in the group do not look at the web page every day and so miss things like this information. This is yesterday's page. I am working on today's page right now. It will be added later today.
