December 19th Day 10

Today the Ride moves on 33 miles to Vesta, where the horses will be taken care of at the Farm corral there and the Riders will be housed at the Marshall SW Minnesota State University. where they will be having dinner with the Oyate Club there. Oh yes at lunch time they will be with the Living Word Church.

Riders please bring in your Sleeping gear and pillows this stop.

Today they will have completed 236 miles from the start. Still just under 100 miles to go!

Thanks to the community of Vesta and Marshall SW MN State University, the Oyate Club, and the Living Word Church for continued support.

I often wonder if the riders experience any joy on this ride... each has their own experience, and the ride is not a celebration in ways many would define as such. I personally, on this end of a screen, find humbled "joy" in knowing that this will lead to "joy" in many lives. For as we heal we open our hearts to allow joy to enter.

Prayers up that this day gives a moment for each one of us to find something that our heart smiles for.
Creator blessed our property with a litter of new life, from a feral cat. This one has captured my heart, in particular. Such a little example of being connected to all... colors, hearts, relations.

Creator Bless the riders and the four legged with everything they need today. Let them know how thankful we are for their journey. Let all the support staff and volunteers know they are appreciated and needed as well. Please humble us all:allow us to remember where we came from, where we are,and where we are going. We are one!

Have a safe day, stay warm, eat well, rest well!
With gratitude,love,honor, and respect

Another day is to end. Sun comes and sun down goes, time goes by where it goes. The way you ride is filled with tears, every mile has its story to tell. Long time has passed, but your hearts remember the awful thing that happened once. All those who preceded you, their spirits are following you. The great spirit follows you, my heart beats for everyone who is on the big ride 38 + 2 sends many warm thoughts. Want to get some rest and that tomorrow is gonna be great. Hugs and kisses

Each day & every mile ridden brings you closer to the ceremony point where others will gather & pay respect for the original 38 + 2. Ride safe Warriors, you are honoring your Ancestors. You are setting an example for generations to follow.

I remember last year an elder told us how hard the month of December was for them. As most people celebrated and had cheer and joy, but for the Natives, for the one's who know history December is a time that is the hardest, the coldest and a time when we feel the tragedies from the past. Prayers for Forgivness and Reconciliation.
