Upon returning from a week at Standing Rock
last December I immersed myself in native videos
on youtube & learning about this was one of
the biggest eye openers. So important this ride
happens every year.

I met Jim and Alberta Iron Cloud Miller on February
20, 2013 at the Heard Museum in Phoenix AZ. The
film Dakota 38 + 2 was being shown. My friend
had viewed the film and recommended that I see
it. Said it was a part of my history. My mother
Standing Rock Sioux and my father Rosebud Sioux.
I will never forget how this history impacted
me. I support Jim Miller's vision and pray for
healing and reconciliation.
Prayers up for the horses, riders and support
crew.

Not sure if this is allowed, or if it will come
out, being written,as it is in my heart...this
is from my heart, and zero disrespect is meant
by this...only love. I hope this comes through
as such.
Many of you know I just learned of the reason
behind this ride a few months ago??. Not knowing
prior to that, and the reason for the ride breaks
my heart. I am honored to be able to join the
group, and show support as I am able. I am proud
of all who are on this journey. Thank you for
sharing with me. I am grateful for the teachings.
To me this is an amazing demonstration of respect, honor, dedication, forgiveness, healing, love, sacrifice, and
fight. Our nation, our people, our world, our
ancestors,our future generations,and our Mother
Earth needs this.
We are connected to the same Creator, all brothers
and sisters who need this awareness, the true
history,the healing,mending, love,and forgiveness,
the ways of love,connectedness,respect,and honor.
I'm not sure if anyone has ever apologized, surely
not our Government, for any of the genocide, stealing
of land, the breaking of treaties, the classifications
of less than, the current atrocities that are
still taking place, the harsh treatment, nor the
pure hate that still exist from others.
I am saying "I'm sorry for all of the suffering,
past and present, caused by any of my ancestors
to any and all life on this earth" I do
not know the past of my genealogy, nor will I
probably ever. I do, however, believe we are
all connected. We must learn together, acknowledge
the truth,heal ourselves,heal others,support
one another,and grow together.
Please know that I am with each one of you in
spirit! I stand with you, I will stand up for
you, I honor and respect you! I will honor the
sacred hoop.(still learning)
I will not be an instrument for hate. I will
do all in my power to learn, share, and teach
truth! I cannot change the entire world, but
I can change myself. The insanity to stop with
me. I will do my part to heal seven back and
seven forward.
Please be safe on this ride! Ride with the pride, dignity, honor, sacredness, passion, respectcompassion, and
love that you so deserve to be shown by All!
May we all open our hearts to the sacred ways
you show us! May we honor Mother Earth. Walk
gently her,for those to come need us to do so!
May Grandfather Sun warm your days, and Grandmother
Moon watch over you in your slumber. May Creator
keep you all safe, and may you receive the blessings
you need!
With gratitude,love,and respect
A'ho

I was unaware of the reason for this ride until
last year's ride & posts. I took the time
to watch the documentary & I bawled my eyes
out.
As an Alaska Native, I can identify with it's
purpose & am grateful for the updates. I
am following from afar again this year. The
riders who participate are showing much respect
& I pray that the Ancestors watch over all
participants. I bought last year's hoody from
Lou Fuentes and wear it in support.
When I watched the documentary last ride it
definitely had a resonating impact on my heart.
The young who ride are doing it for their own
personal journey. What an amazing event to honor,
educate & experience hand the sacrifices
by rider & horse. May the ancestors protect
& guide & may Mother Nature provide
good weather.
Bless all the support staff & those providing
food & lodging while on this journey.

Ramona, I too watched the documentary, during
a mending broken hearts workshop, and have watched
it a few times since. It left my heart, mind
,and soul in absolute turmoil. Broken would
be an understatement. Everything I "believed"
was untrue. It is not the history I was taught
in school nor by society. Just like Thanksgiving
and Christmas holidays. I am learning truths, and
becoming in touch with what I believe to be
true for myself, and learning ways I can heal
and help others. Personally,I think this should
be mandatory watch in all schools. Until we
face the truth, nothing changes. I do not condone
sweeping this under the rug, and ignoring this
any longer. When I wear my shirt and am asked
about the ride I give a loving, direct explanation
and encourage others to watch the documentary.
Love and blessings to all who show their support
for this amazing journey! A'ho

Mo, last year was a spiritual awakening having
followed the events @ Standing Rock and following
The Ride. It ignited much more passion for my
culture & I got involved in learning to
harvest traditional planes like devil's club,
spruce tips, etc.
I am a participant with a canoe family &
hope to take my first canoe journey in June.
I am proud to be a strong Tlingit lady &
will continue my journey. I can hardly wait
for January, a paddle workshop - make my own
paddle.
We gain much respect for those who came before
us if we take the time to empower ourselves.
