DAKOTA 38+
2 MEMORIAL RIDE - 2022
Hello, It
is December 10th, 2022, and the final Dakota 38 + 2 Memorial Ride began
today. This is the first webpage of the Ride.
I will try
incorporating pages from years ago into this years website, so that those
of you who are new can see those.
The back
ground on this page today is what is being put on the merchandising items
this year. See Lou's shop front for these.
I am making
some different calendars this year. The first one is of the horses through
the years, the second one will be of unusual, beautiful, photos that have
been taken through the years. They will be $5 each payable to the Go Fund
Me page for the Ride expenses. The 3rd one I am working on is a Historic
one, of the Dakota 38 and 1862. That Calendar will be FREE. Years ago
I was given permission to use these photos from the MN Historical Society
as long as I didn't charge anyone for them. So the Calendar with those
photos will be free. Same proceedure.

I hope this URL works OK.
If you want
a Calendar, please email me at dakota38@dragonflydezignz.50megs.com.
Let me know which you want and I will send you a PDF file so that you
can print them out yourself. So I will need an up to date email address
from you, or it /they won't reach you, Thanks
Prayer from 2019
Kendra Thomas:
9th December 2019. 'My heart is with all of you as you prepare for the
Ride.... very emotional.
The Ride is one part of the healing journey. Preparing for the Ride is
the other, and it's the part that comes first.
Preparing is when we pray. We pray for the strength and courage to be
our best Self as we carry the wounds of the Ancestors. During this time
their wounds are in the hands of all who support the Ride and we are mindful
of how gentle we must be with their wounds. We are aware that their wounds
might speak through us on the Ride. We might feel angry, or sad. We are
giving their wounds the voice they never had.
It is a sacred time, a powerful time, a time to be mindful of our mood,
a time to be self-reflective and always bring ourselves back to our heart,
back to love, for Love heals all wounds.
I pray for all of you, for every single person who is supporting the Ride
in all the different ways we do ?? I love you all, very much! I pray for
you to take good care of your own wounded hearts as we all feel our wounds
when we support a journey like this. Take good care of you. Be gentle
with yourself and others. Love yourself and others. Have the courage to
have the uncomfortable conversations and speak from Love.
Hear the whispers of the Ancestors in the wind. Feel their presence wrap
around you like a blanket. Cry their tears. Heal their pain. Heal your
pain.
I love you all.'
Here are
some good wishes for the Riders that came in today and a few days ago.
Once I have collected your post I will like it. If I haven't liked it
I won't have got it on my file yet.

Im just going to say, that this is the time of year I look forward
to the most. This has been one hell of an experience with all you
amazing people and of course watching all the riders, runners, supporters,
families etc. come together for this Memorial Ride. Thank you for
accepting me in the group, Ive made many great friends here,
and thank you Gloria and Crew for doing such a wonderful job in maintaining
this page. Im sad it will be the last year, but I also understand.
I hope that all the rides these brave warriors did over the past years
brought awareness and peace to all affected.
Peace and love to each and everyone of you |

I'm so saddened that this is the last ride. It was a dream of my father
and I to make this ride with you, but this year has been a rather
hard year for us, and it was time for the ride before I knew it. We
lost my mother, and my brother-in-law (unexpectedly) passed 3 days
before my mom. Maybe my father will feel up to driving up there to
at least spend a few days with you all while you ride. It would have
been my mom's 86 birthday on 12/26/2022.
