Dakota 38 + 2 Memorial Ride 2017

December 23rd Day 14

Today the Ride moves on 17 miles to Fort Ridgley. They then return to Morton along with the four leggeds to sleep and have food this evening.

Breakfast will be from the Dow family - Thanks to them
Lunch will be at the Chuck Wagon - Thanks Josette, Keith and team
Dinner (I think) will be from the Lower Sioux Community - Thanks to them

Fort Ridgley State Park: It always amazed me when I visited this place how thick the walls were. The Dakota went up against these walls with rifles and bows and arrows.

It's a beautiful to ride! It's a beautiful day to live!
Creator we ask with humbled hearts this morning that riders, horses, walkers, support staff, and volunteers, have all they need to begin this day. We are thankful for all the support they have been shown thus far. Let them feel the love as they ride closer to receiving some healing they so desperately need. Bless each and every one. May we all have open hearts to allow this healing to fill our every cell. May our actions toward all others always be loving! May we all continue to learn, teach where we can, forgive, heal, and know we are all one. Created from the same source, with the same love, equal to and never apart, nor better than anyone. With gratitude, honor, respect, and much love! Ride proud warriors! A'ho

What a beautiful sunrise to start the day Warriors!!! Ride with love, respect, dignity but most of all - be proud of your journey & what it has given you thus far. I wish I could be there, but I get to witness it thru the daily posts and it humbles me that our young pave the way for forgiveness. Gunalscheesh Riders & all involved to make this happen. I wish I could be there to see you ride in.

The Prayer bag that carries prayers and names of those who cannot make it or are riding as Spirit. A real honor to carry it.

Good Saturday morning - day 14 of this incredulous ride. A journey for oneself, for personal & cultural awareness & to show honor & respect. As I sit here this morning having just woke up & having my morning coffee in Alaska. I have feelings of excitement, awe & respect for the brave Warriors. As you get nearer, what are you feeling. I can imagine the smell of the air, hear the hooves of your beloved ponies & imagine how rapidly your hearts are racing.
God speed Warriors, sit tall & proud as your journey is nearing the end - for this trip.
Life has many more journeys for you to experience & be humbled.

This scarf was given to Sharlene by Cari, one of our Admins. We are trying to find out where this came from so we can get some done for next year's Ride

This photo came from Sharlene, it is at Jeffers Petroglyphs in MN. It is what life is all about - Wakan. Shame everyone doesn't see, recognize and understand the meaning of it in everything on our planet and beyond. I'm sure the world would be a better place if everyone did. jmho. Back to work now. Thanks Sharlene for the pic! glad you enjoyed Jeffers!

Thanks for the messages, keep sending them in please.

That's it for today.... Prayers sent from me in England for the Riders, the Horses, the Crews, the Communities who feed and house the riders, crew and horses, the Supporters worldwide and YOU... Mitakuye Oyasin
