Due to Covid 19 the

Day 6
Tuesday, December 15th
Prayer of the day
Kendra Thomas - 2019.
'My heart is with all of you as you prepare for the Ride....
very emotional.
The Ride is one part of the healing journey. Preparing for the
Ride is the other, and it's the part that comes first.
Preparing is when we pray. We pray for the strength and courage
to be our best Self as we carry the wounds of the Ancestors.
During this time their wounds are in the hands of all who support
the Ride and we are mindful of how gentle we must be with their
wounds. We are aware that their wounds might speak through us
on the Ride. We might feel angry, or sad. We are giving their
wounds the voice they never had.
It is a sacred time, a powerful time, a time to be mindful of
our mood, a time to be self-reflective and always bring ourselves
back to our heart, back to love, for Love heals all wounds.
I pray for all of you, for every single person who is supporting
the Ride in all the different ways we do. I love you all, very
much! I pray for you to take good care of your own wounded hearts
as we all feel our wounds when we support a journey like this.
Take good care of you. Be gentle with yourself and others. Love
yourself and others. Have the courage to have the uncomfortable
conversations and speak from Love.
Hear the whispers of the Ancestors in the wind. Feel their presence
wrap around you like a blanket. Cry their tears. Heal their
pain. Heal your pain.
I love you all.'

I am at home, fireplace going, warm;... Reflecting on the past
24 hours or so. What a huge impact this timeframe has had on
me! As we left the kc hall yesterday evening Zsakiah (our 12
yr old) was so full of questions & concern. I did my very
best to explain the Dakota 38 Ride to the best of my ability.
We were driving East headed home, when he asked if we could
keep going to see if we could catch up with the riders whom
utilized the nice weather to further their journey, I told him,
"yes but they are at least 2 hours past now."
We drove to the 1st curve
past 37 as he was inquiring about the dates, he stopped and
told me, "but Mom?! that's past Christmas, you mean them
kids I saw in town earlier and that girl that's Ambys age n
well all of them like wont be home with family n presents n
stuff? You mean they will really be riding on?! In the cold-
it's winter!" His eyes are now welling up, I pull over
to turn around and say to him that "these riders are sharing
a great gift by doing this, one of hope for reconciliation and
healing, this is HUGE son!" ( so now I find myself in tears
with my little boy) as we head home I keep talking best I know
how telling him they are "in ceremony" and what positivity
this is creating, he finally smiles and tells me "even
tho we didn't catch up to them tonight, I feel them, I feel
proud for them" ....
I told him I was given the
documentary earlier when he was at school and we would watch
it all together to help us all get a fuller understanding....
he woke this morning eager to drive to town to hopefully just
be in their presence briefly before school, he and Amberiah
Smith carried in a few useful items and said "hello",
and in return received hugs and lots of smiles, I had to get
them to school but they wanted to stop by where the horses were
first, what an honor to see a beautiful sight to start the day!

My prayers for each supporter, rider and the horses as
this sacred ride continues.
"The shackles of pain and fear come undone when I
follow them into their world and they accept me there,
with no condition. My heart rests peacefully in this place.
My spirit at one with theirs. My daily prayer is for my
soul to reside with them forever - my friends, my constant
companions, my healers."
(Quote from 'Healing Horses')
Love to each of you.

There is something about believing in ourselves, there
is something about believing in our family, our community,
our Nation
in our purpose here today ... there
is something in feeling full by that belief. That something
makes things better. Our prayers for the strength, clarity
and calling in of healing to each and everyone this ride
touches.

Hazel Hallum getting
back on after her horse spooked sideways at an old tire in the
morning, after she got back on she walked her horse over to where
she spooked before we continued. Good horsewoman.

This rider, Andrea, has on
her back a Cradleboard, she is carrying it for this part of the
Ride. It is to honor and remember the women who were imprisoned
in Ft Snelling after being force marched there after the war.
All of the women on the Ride will take it in turn to carry the
Cradleboard during the Ride. This alone is a prayer by the women
of today for the women of 1862. You Win are amazing. Thank you
all. 2018

Look closely at these two photos... (above and below) I
guess Spirit shows up in the most amazing way. Yesterday an eagle
in a tree, today an eagle in between the two left hand riders
in the above photo, and look at the auras around the bottom riders
and staffs! Now of course the eagle could be a smudge on the window
and the cold could cause the aura but I like to believe it is
the Creator's work, don't you? -
