Good Morning Everyone here on Dakota 38 + 2, Feeling a lil
bummed.. Idk if the riders carry prayers for individual names??
I asked a week ago to carry my friends name for prayers for
him. Idk if this is done or how it's done? He's struggling with
his addictions & incarcerated now. I figured that this Memorial
Ride would help him a little. Have a restful day riders &
"war ponies.." Someone please let me know how this
works? Thank you.. Red Love/Tradish style - Laura Charles

I remember the first ride I went to Flandreau Indian school
at the time I sat in the back of the auditorium. It's something
in history I never knew about. And happy it's done every year
to remember those who were lost and also as a healing method
for individuals. I am currently active duty military and final
day will be Monday the 23rd. I send my prayers to the riders
and runners that they will be safe. - Crystal Rain Blackowl
I was remembering past years, we aren't on the ride now bit
I'm sure there will be wonderful stories and experiences to
be shared. - Alberta Iron Cloud Miller

Cooking in
Morton
Good morning to all, I
am sending prayers, positive energy, and my thoughts for the
horses, riders, volunteer staff, and all the volunteers along
the path that provide food for humans/horses and shelter. I
have asked Great Spirit to cover everyone with a protective
covering on the shorts' day on Mother Earth. I have also asked
the ancestors to speak to each horse and rider to give them
a teaching to take back with them when they return hone to teach
the world what compassions is for all living beings. As the
healing continues with each of us the hurt will disappear just
like when the doctor sapped the blood vessels in my eye that
were not to be there. The memory will always be there so there
will be no forgetting but the forgiveness will grow so that
the healing will keep growing one person at a time until there
will be a strong compassion community that the dance of Unity
will become the dance of all because the ancestors will come
to dance with us. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all
today, have a fabulous ride because it is a good day to ride
and connect to the beauty of Great Spirit. - Pennykay

Young
Riders on the way to Morton and a rest
Prayers for the Journey Today.... - Doug Luzar
Heard a really wonderful testimony of an Elder's influence
on one of the younger riders and the difference following the
Elder's teaching made the next year. It was a part of the Native
American culture that needs to live on in every community no
matter what the race! Thank you for blessing me with the story!

I
am a high school English teacher in a suburb just outside of
Minneapolis, and all of my students just viewed Dakota 38 +
2. You are all amazing and inspiring. - Elizabeth Hillstrom
Barniskis
Wow! This is so important that it is shown to high school
students to give them an accurate perspective of Minnesota history!
- Diane R. Anderson
That's
wonderful that the kids in America are being introduced to this...all
American children should know our countrys true history. So
much of what's taught in schools is not teaching the whole ugly
unvarnished truth. How can we learn from our past if we as a
nation don't know it??!! Myself, as a 46 yr old white woman
from Illinois didn't know that President Lincoln ordered this
atrocity! So we must teach our children the whole truth in order
to help them be better than we :were and our forefathers were.
Terrible wrongs have been committed to Natives since the day
Columbus arrived and are still being committed today. I feel
something stirring in this country...an awakening I hope. And
its being led by Native peoples. So blessings to those who are
leading us there - Christy
Reinders
The post below is about the map page that Lou has set up showing

Hi Lou, I tried but couldn't pin myself so please if you
would - Thank you to the riders, horses, runners and volunteers
in the words of my ancestor Daniel FireCloud "I shake hands
with you in my heart" Rayann from North St Paul, MN
